Starter for ten...
First of all about the name HOPEYS Kitchen, mostly my friends call me among other less polite names Hopey, after all my surname is 'Hope' or 'HOPEY' so perhaps not the most original of nicknames but it is what it is and i suppose it could be worse!
From a young age, surrounded by a family of amazing professional chefs and home cooks, my love of cooking and great food smouldered within me. Always drawn to open fires, sizzling pans and the precision of a well-sharpened knife i have at last decided to stop just talking and most likely boring everyone about food and to start sharing my passion with others.
HOPEYS kitchen isn't about fine dining, stuffy formality and pretentious nonsense its about great flavours, sometimes smoked sometimes not, fire, wood, charcoal and being outside surrounded by family and friends, chatting, eating and having a fun relaxing evening creating memories that last a lifetime.
Simple, traditional, high quality, traditional cuts of meat, fresh vegetables and fruit when cooked well make me smile especially if there is the occasional surprise. I love to share my ideas but am also keen to keep learning and experimenting. I'm always listening to others ideas, reading recipe books and probably spend way too much time in my garden with my Big Green Egg, Joy Stove and Fire Pit just 'being'.
